Software for DIC

VIC-Snap

VIC-Snap is a complete image acquisition software for low-speed, high-speed, and ultra-high-speed machine vision cameras.

Designed around integration with VIC-2D and VIC-3D, to go from calibration and test image acquisition directly to analysis with one click. It offers full support for select data acquisition hardware (DAQs) for external data synchronization (e.g. load or grip displacement measurement), image triggering, vibration synchronization for accuracy, and much more. Built-in tools for image analysis ensure optimized focus, brightness, and pattern quality every time. Integrated motorized stage controls for precise system positioning and camera focusing when combined with the stereo microscope module.

VIC-Snap Remote App

Conveniently view live images on your mobile device or tablet while setting up the cameras. Zoom in with a pinch to adjust your focus. The crosshairs help align the cameras perfectly. Control exposure to get your images well lit (the histogram helps, too). Acquire calibration images with a tap. Compatible with most iOS and Android devices and available on the App Store and the Google Play Store.

Modules

We also offer a range of additional modules to extend the capabilities of our software and adapt it to your specific needs.
VIC-Snap also supports select infrared cameras which enables easy third-camera calibration, and thermal mapping of temperature data can be directly displayed alongside the DIC measurements.
The VIC-3D Real-Time processing module by Correlated Solutions allows full-field test data to be displayed live while a test is running. This module can provide users with the information needed to make critical adjustments during the test, ensuring the loading is applied as expected. The module is especially valuable when monitoring specimens that are either very expensive and/or have been produced in a limited quantity. Image acquisition via VIC-Snap is performed concurrently with seamless external analog data synchronization for post-processing images to create denser data sets.
The VIC-3D Fatigue & Vibration module (previously called Fulcrum) enables low-speed cameras to capture displacement and strain measurements from low to high-speed periodic events. This add-on module is a low-cost alternative to high-speed cameras when a sinusoidal signal can be provided. The acquisition software VIC-Snap allows the user to control when to accurately trigger the low-speed cameras. This is typically performed at peaks, valleys, or phase intervals in the driving frequency. A user may choose to acquire one image pair at every peak every 1,000 cycles for 6 months, for example.
VIC-Snap HS is the image acquisition software for supported high-speed cameras used for VIC-3D DIC system. It captures synchronized image sequences and saves them in the required format for direct analysis in VIC-3D. The software also supports the recording of external analog signals via the VIC-DAQ unit and the control of synchronized light sources, providing a complete solution for high-speed DIC measurements.
