We are specialists and developers in full-field optical measurement technology, providing high-quality systems, software, accessories and services for use in research, development and industrial applications.
The major technologies are Digital Image Correlation (DIC) and laser-based solutions (Shearography / ESPI) for full-field non-destructive testing (NDT) as well as for shape, deformation and strain measurements with innovative solutions for dynamic applications.
We have more than 25 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and system integration. We support customers with reliable technology, application know-how and comprehensive technical services.

The Companies
Correlated Solutions Europe and isi-sys GmbH are independent companies working in close cooperation, sharing the same location, and combining their resources in Kassel Germany. The team of over 16 employees consists of experts in optical measurement, including high-level engineers specialising in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and design. The available office space of above 400 sqm mainly at Operations Lange Straße 87A includes also labs for development, testing and production.
Our Technologies
All our systems are developed, manufactured and tested in-house in Germany. Our developers use them for a wide range of measurement services in academic, research and development, and industrial applications.
The software for Shearography/ESPI, Videostroboscopy and Piezoshaker System is developed by isi-sys GmbH based on our isi-Studio platform. The digital image correlation systems are designed on close cooperation with Correlated Solutions USA for the VIC software.
isi-sys is also a developer of specialised Piezoshaker systems for high-frequency, broadband vibration excitation. These systems originated from applications involving our Shearography for NDT, but they are also used for active IR-Thermography of our partners as well as for various other purposes such as improving welding, gluing and printing processes.
Further products also originate from accessories and tools of DIC and Shearography such as specialized light sources, data acquisition and synchronisation devices.
Our History
isi-sys was founded around 2001 by Dr.-Ing. Peter Mäckel as a sole proprietorship. The name ‘isi-sys’ is an abbreviation of ‘interferometry, stroboscopy and inspection system’.
Cooperation with Correlated Solutions began at the end of 2002. In 2007, isi-sys moved into its own office at Wasserweg 8 in Kassel (headquarters). isi-sys GmbH was founded in 2009.
First, the office was expanded by 70 sqm at Wasserweg 8 in 2014. In 2020, the operation division was shifted to Lange Straße and further extended in 2023 and 2025 to more than 400 sqm today!

Correlated Solutions Europe is representing Correlated Solutions Inc., USA in Europe. Correlated Solutions is a global leader in digital image correlation systems and optical testing solutions. VIC-2D and VIC-3D software and systems for Digital Image Correlation are widely recognised for their precision, flexibility and ease of use in materials testing, structural analysis and experimental mechanics. Through a strong and long-term partnership spanning more than 20 years with Correlated Solutions Inc., USA, high-precision, turnkey DIC system solutions are developed and provided with seamless integration of measurement technologies including high end software and hardware. This collaboration enables customers throughout Europe and worldwide to benefit from advanced optical measurement systems for DIC and Shearography backed by expert consulting, training, and service.
