Speckle Preparation
The preparation of speckle patterns with the suitable size, density and contrast is important to achieve high end measurement results by DIC. Speckle preparation is also an important part of the VIC training.
Speckle pattern generation
The VIC-3D Professional systems are equipped with useful accessories for speckle pattern generation such as:
- Speckle stamps and rollers
- Specialized airbrush systems with sputter caps
- Manual, hand-held printers
- Different sticker material for printed speckle or markers
- Specialized paint for high temperature or bio-samples
- Blower pens and other tools, depending on the application
New: Fluorescent Speckles
- For transparent surfaces (e.g. glass)
- For high reflective surfaces (e.g. mirrors)
- Using without a primer:
→ No peeling, sliding or cracking
→ No additional weight and stiffness
→ Perfect for foils and thin structures - For optimal speckle contrast
- No direct reflections (no polarised light and no polarisation filter required)
- Down to 5 μm speckle size
