Advantages
of video-stroboscopes:

Against conventional system based on flash lights the
video-stroboskop enables the user to work without eyestrain. Especially
high power flash lights are harmful for the eyes. So the application is
allowed for short periods only.

The application of cameras is also possible under extreme
environmental conditions (e .g. climatic chambers). The cameras can be
installed on location
with
difficult
access
for the human eye. (Further

Using various optics such as zoom or mikroscops the application are
more flexible than the conventional observation by eye. The “observer”
– the image plane and the optical axis – permits reproducible
positioning.

The sequences or single shots can be recorded and stored digitally.
It is permits to include the images or complete sequences to presentations
(e. g. power point) in the avi-format.
·
The image offers further information e. g. for comparison of
different objects or experimental conditions. The software offers
image processing such as automated edge detection and measurement tools
for qualitative evaluation based on calibration of the image scale.
·
A quantitative evaluation of vibration amplitudes is optional (including
3D deformation and 3D strain distribution) by digital image correlation
and stereo-camera system (isi-Vibro-correlation-system). More information
