Heat by flash lights

The high sensitivity of shearography calls for small loads.
Commonly-used loading principles are variation of pressure for tubes and tanks, vacuum chambers and heat applied by flash lights.

The images of the carbon fibre composite beam (right) enable visualization of pre-prepared dis-bonds of various sizes and depths.
Vacuum chambers –   based on glass cylinders up to diameters of 1. 2 m –   are designed by isi-sys as a low cost alternative to single piece non destructive testing. By contrast with closed (opaque) vacuum chambers with internal shearography sensor no remote controlled robotic is required here, as the object can be monitored from outside.
