The present example shows the result of a 3D deformation- and strain measurement at the dome of a pressure tank. The load has been applied by increasing the inner pressure. Therewith it's a matter of a static application of the vibro correlation system.
The system captures the 3D profile of the object surface (image 1) of the marked AOI (area of interest). This is necessary for the calculation of the strain from the 3D deformation measurement, to consider the components which lay tangential to the surface.
The results of the 3D deformation measurement of the AOI are shown in the following images. They are superposed with a black-white image of the object. In this case, the image shows the reference state (unloaded) from the viewing angle of the right camera. The speckle, which are applied to the object surface, as well as the flange and the two muffles are visible. The 3D deformation parts are shown in the images 2-4, in the directions u, v and w. Image 5 and 6 show the main strain e1 and e2.
