The following examples show two results concerning strain measurement at the underside of the arm next to the wrist. The load has been applied by pulling of the skin with a finger. The fingertip is shown at the left (image 1), respectively at the upper image border of the measurement area (image 2).

Image 1 shows the distribution of the horizontal strain component du/dx. The concentration of strain in the surronding area of the thumb (red) is clearly visible.

The second example shows the deformations u and v (horizontal and vertical direction, image 2 in the middle), as well as the resulting strains du/dx and dv/dy (image 2, right). The image below on the left shows the image of the left camera of the stereo system.
