The analysis begins with the recording of the reference state. Image 2 shows the contour coordinates X, Y, Z with Z in colour scaling of the AOI (area of interest).

Image 3 shows the strains e_yy in longitudinal direction of the cylinder specimen at the begin of the measurement cycle. Only areas of tension of the cycles have been selected here. Next to the view of the strain distribution of the AOI in colour scaling, the measurement values are shown along the marked cutting line.

The measurements shown here have been conducted on a cyclic loaded round specimen (tension-compression alternation of load). The round specimen has a diameter of 10mm. Image 1 shows the test setup for the main measurement at the tension testing machine. For the best utilisation of the CCD, the measurements have been conducted with vertical camera adjustment as well as with special makro object lenses. Thus, the measurement section has been reduced to less than 10x8mm and a relative high spatial resolution could be achieved.
