GLARE® is a glass fiber reinforced aluminium laminate that is inserted in the bodyshell of the new Airbus A380. Between the aluminium sides of a GLARE®-disk delamination have been inserted into different depths.

The nine preparated defects with different depths have a aperture of 60 mm and have been detected clearly at different excitation frequencies with the local streakiness differences.

Picture 2: The dimensions of the disk and the nine imperfections (demonstrated with circles) can be seen here - with two exemplary heterodyned phase measurements by 11 kHz and 9 kHz.
In the following two videos (picture 3 and 4) are videos demonstrated of the frequenzsweeps of another GLARE-disk with preparated imperfections. Both videos show the same image section, but with different excitation frequency. Therefore, picture 3 demonstrates the global natural vibration form of the disk and picture 2 shows the local natural vibration form of the defect.
